The much hyped Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Afzal Khan starrer Khoobsurat has released today. The film was a talk of the town because of its story that is inspired from 1980 famous Hrisikesh Mukherjee film of the same title where evergreen Rekha played the female lead. Lets take a ride to get the review of Khoobsurat [2021].

Plot
The film is basically a clash of two different ideas. It’s about a loud ‘punjabi’ girl who comes into someone’s family and turns things around. But everything else is completely different from the Rekha’s Khubsoorat directed by Hrisikesh Mukherjee. Unlike Rekha’s character, who had just finished college in Hrishida’s film, in this film Sonam will be playing a physiotherapist. She comes to the royal family of Rathores and discovers that there is an unsaid, unspoken competition of snobbery. But her powerful presence and her happy go lucky rebellious life style will challenge the strict norms of the family every now and then.
How things will change in everyone’s life including Mili (Sonam’s role in the film) when she will come to the family and her bonding with each and every characters of that family is what the film is all about.
Khoobsurat Movie Review
Sonam is no different than her acting in Aisha and cannot get over her obsession with clothes. She is the same ‘daddy’s girl and “I am Anil Kapoor’s daughter” is everywhere, though she has managed to portray her character well. Fawad plays the typical snob and a representative of a ‘Rathor’ family. He is really hot and has something about his personality that is perfect for his drawn back character of Vikram Rathor. No doubt this man has the potential to win million hearts and the quality of becoming a star.
Apart from the leads, actors like Ratna Pathak Shah and Kirron Kher are both very polished actors but somehow tangled in their stereotype characters of ‘Maya Sarabhai’ and ‘punjabi mom’. They need to break the chain. Disappointment is to see Adity Rao in a small side role.
Music is peppy and different but failed to create an impact. ‘Abhi to party suru hui hay’ is a fun number.
Plot is not new and those who have seen Rekha starrer Khoobsurat may not like the film but for others it is a one time watch but for all the Fawad fans it is a must watch.
