Petition Filed at LHC against Pakistan Cricket Team’s Poor Display in World Cup – This is what happened

A petition filed against Pakistan national cricket team questioning their poor performance in ICC Cricket World Cup at Lahore High Court (LHC). So, Pakistan has played two matches against India and West-indies and lost both the games shabbily. As per Dawn online the petitioner also wanted the removal of PCB chief Shahryar Ahmed Khan, member Najam Sethi and prime minister of the country Nawaz Sharif.

An advocate named Rizwan Gul filed the case against the Pakistan team at Lahore High Court wanting a thorough investigation on the performance of the cricket team in ongoing World Cup. The squad for the tournament has been selected against merit, the advocate also added.
As per Gul, Najam Sethi should be removed immediately from the Pakistan cricket board and he already have the order of apex court. The fans couldn’t live on the 150 runs defeat against West Indies who lost Ireland in their previous fixture. Nawaz Sharif, PM of Pakistan is also a respondents in the case.

The cricket fans of the country have protested against the team and the management board from different parts of the country, also questioned their honesty on selection of the players as according to them they don’t really have the world cup worthy merit. On the other hand PCB asked for a clarification from the chief selector of world cup squad Moin Khan off his visit to casino before the fixture against West-indies.
The first hearing of the case will be on 24th February and Justice Ijazul Hassan of LHC will hear it. This is the first time in cricket history that a petition is filed against a team’s performance. Let’s see what happens next to Pakistan cricket team as they have been the right-hand part of many controversies.
